The Priciest Lamborghini Ever Built:  50th Anniversary Edition

How does a carmaker celebrate 50 years of creating revolutionary automobiles? One-up themselves, apparently. In 2013, as part of their anniversary celebration, Lamborghini revealed the Egoista, a car that is unique in many ways, not the least of which being that there is only one in existence. It’s built for a solo driver, with a center-steering wheel cockpit that rivals those of fighter jets. Like fighter jets, the price tag was jaw-dropping. Coming in at a whopping $117 million dollars, it is by far the most expensive Lamborghini ever built. Some other equally jaw-dropping stats for this car include:

  • Body panels made of anti-radar materials.
  • A pop-open glass canopy cockpit like a fighter jet – drivers must climb in and out.
  • The cockpit is made of carbon fiber and aluminum, based on aviation interiors like the Apache helicopter.
  • The 5.2-liter V10 creates 600 horsepower and propels the Egoista from 0-60 MPH in 3 seconds The ultra-rare supercar can reach a top speed of 202 MPH.
